iEM8000 series LCD Graphics Controller   iEM8000 - Mass Production iEM8020 - Mass Production (in module form) iEM8000 TOP iEM8000   The iEM8000 is an intelligent multi-media LCD graphics controller with 56 Kbytes of embedded memory. The feature-rich iEM8000 provides a low-power, single-chip solution to the embedded markets such as PDA, mobile communication devices and mobile entertainment devices. The iEM8000 is capable of displaying 64K color on a TFT LCD panel. The intelligent controller also has an ADPCM decoder, a delta-sigma audio DAC, an overlay sprite engine and a 2D graphics accelerator with Chinese font expansion (both GB and Big-5 formats) to cater to the needs of the multi-media requirements of these fast growing embedded markets. The iEM8000 has the intelligence to perform power-on self-configuration and to execute commands that read from the command FIFO. In addition, the intelligent controller is expandable. Besides the 56 KBytes embedded memory, it can be cascaded with up to 128 KBytes of external SRAM to support higher resolution LCD display. The iEM8000 can also support up to 1 MBytes of external font ROM (over 30,000 16x16 Chinese characters). The iEM8000 is available in die-form.
